Sundew Session with Cormac Lally – Righteous Langer
Cormac Lally -
Righteous Langer
- Saturday 13th June 7pm
- Location: Daingean Grand Canal - Barge
Presenting Righteous Langer, a journey through Irish life, it's institutions, stay at home husbandry, parenthood, love, conspiracy theories, history, youtube rabbit holes, manhood, and the ups and downs of life in this wee country of Ireland that we call home.
Cormac Lally's spoken word workshop tears apart everything he sets his eye on with savage humour, and yet explores deep subjects with real understanding and a firm hold of Irish roots and where we come from, whilst looking forward to where we are going as a nation.
About Cormac: Cormac Lally is one of Ireland's top spoken
word artists. Originally from Tullamore, he moved to Skibbereen in 2015 with
his family and put roots down. His work has been featured on RTE and is a
familiar face at the countries top festivals, (remember them!) He has performed
with Mick Flannery, Blindboy, Linton Kwesi Jonson, Luca Bloom, Ronan O
Snodaigh, Liam O Maoilai, and Stephen James Smith. In 2016 himself and his
poetry wife Julie Goo wrote a show called Me, Myself and Ireland a look back at
Ireland her history and cultural and have toured the country with it.
His work is a mix of
utter lies, hard truths, politics and family life, dropped on the listener with
a cutting humour with deep emotional levels, delivered in a flowing
rhythm.
"One of a
kind"
"The most
engaging, hilarious and hard hitting poet in Ireland today."
